vFusion - Video Element and Content Management Application
Kasenna®'s vFusion™ Video Network Management application is built to solve the challenges of operating and managing a video server network in a highly distributed architecture to offer ease of management and monitoring of the networked servers to reduce total cost of ownership.
An advanced video network management application, vFusion simplifies the operation of a network of video servers to create operational efficiencies and save capital for a video service offering. vFusion centralizes all content management, content distribution, server configuration, and server management into a single application, thus turning islands of disparate video servers into a single managed video network. The result - lower operating costs, lower capital costs and a more profitable video service.
Service Provider Benefits:
Lower OPEX and CAPEX
- Reduce the cost of managing complex multi-tiered networks with centralized vFusion management application
- Reduce your capital expenditures based on more efficient utilization of server resources
- Lowers cost of ownership - both CAPEX and OPEX
Increase Quality of Service and Reliability
- Identify problem areas quicker and easier
- Achieve operational efficiencies through self-managing system operation
- Advanced centralized monitoring and management
Deploy and Grow Easier
- Grow and expand system more predictably and easier
- Scalable system allows near linear growth to meet subscriber demand
Growth of this kind introduces significant management, monitoring and workflow challenges that dramatically affect the total cost of ownership of the system. vFusion helps solve these challenges. An advanced video network management application, vFusion simplifies the operation of a network of video servers to create operational efficiencies and capital savings.
Distributed Content and Content with Centralized Administration and Control
vFusion provides the core components necessary to manage your entire video network. These include:
- Distribution management - Fully control distribution scheduling, and distribution modes (point to point or reliable multicast). Propagate content from a master Headend to regional Headend or central offices, or from a centralized server to intermediate or edge servers in any combination.
- Acquisition and distribution workflow management - Full workflow management from content ingest through distribution. Content ingest options allow the network to store content based on specific distribution schedules (such as feeds from a video Headend) or to capture content from multiple sources that can include files, catchers, encoders, or real-time ingest for nPVR operation.
- Reporting - Create reports for asset popularity, peak usage, and other performance metrics for use in market planning.
- Content usage monitoring - Deliver full statistics on content usage from individual servers, clusters of servers, or the whole network in aggregate. Set server-specific rules covering distribution, content popularity and replication, cache management, scheduling, and manual or automatic content propagation.
- Configuration and administration - Centrally manage and monitor all servers in the network. Create multi-tier network models, enabling hierarchical caching and distribution of large content libraries with optimal use of storage and bandwidth across the network.
